Just outside San Quirico d'Orcia, the small Chapel of the Madonna di Vitaleta sits framed by twin rows of cypress, built on a hillside where legend says the Virgin Mary once appeared to a shepherdess. Caught here in the first light of morning, mist still settles over the valley as the sun breaks through - a quieter version of one of Tuscany's most photographed views.
